Kim Bethel Nugent was born in Arcadia, Florida where she met Will Nugent in High School. They have been married 40 years with three children and four grandchildren. In 1983, she graduated from the University of Florida with BA in Food & Resource Economics. Kim is currently the Vice President of Bethel Farms. She has been with Bethel since 1982, continuing the family-owned business legacy. Kim is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and is involved in many ministries, serving where she’s needed. Her hobbies include sewing, quilting, volunteering, and fishing. She mostly loves to be with family and enjoys traveling to new adventures with them.

Greg Kanagy is the Executive Director at Gator Wilderness Camp School, a therapeutic Wilderness camping program serving about thirty at risk adolescent males between the ages of
11-16 years old, all participants live in southwest Florida. He is also the president of the Wilderness Road Therapeutic Camping Association, which is an association comprised of 9 therapeutic camping programs located in 6 states and Canada. Greg also serves as an Executive Board Member and has served as President of Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies. Greg obtained a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite University and a master’s degree from Elmira College. He has been married to his lovely wife, Sharon for thirty years and they have two daughters. Greg enjoys spending time with family outdoors, camping in the back country of the Everglades, and fishing.
Andy is Managing Partner of Hackney Ames and Reichel, CPA’s where he has been employed for 32 years. He received his undergraduate accounting degree from Florida Southern in 1990. He completed his required post-baccalaureate accounting studies at the University of Central Florida and Florida Southern and became a CPA in 1994. Andy is an Investment Advisor and a Certified Financial Advisor. Andy and his wife, Pam, are Arcadia natives. They have two sons Haydon and Landon, wife Cara and a grandson, Ronin.
Joe Ayette was born in Kentucky, but grew up in Ohio. He is an engineer by study and grew into an operational leader with multiple manufacturers for the past twenty-seven years. Joe later raised his family in Indiana before moving to Florida seven years ago. He describes his passion as “Helping people with whatever challenges they may have. I try to make the world a little better place each day.” In his spare time, Joe likes to travel and do a lot of outdoor activities such as boating, golfing and pickleball, especially with his family. “I have experienced the “God felt” serenity of Refuge Retreat with our church men’s group. This was not just a transformational weekend for me, but many of my friends as well.”
Jenny has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2008 and a CSAT since 2019. She is the Co-Founder and a Co-Director of Eagle’s Wings Counseling Center in Sarasota.
In her spare time, Jenny enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, and basically anything nature related. Her relationship with God is first and foremost in her life. Jenny is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, has been married for over 29 years, has 2 adult children (one daughter-in-law and one soon-to-be son-in-law) and 2 Italian Greyhounds. Refuge Retreat/Bethel has been a special place for her and her family over many years and it is a privilege to serve on their Board.
